Child Guide

The Child Guide explains how children use Barnacle Bucks to complete chores, earn screen time, and redeem their available minutes.

Children interact with a simplified interface designed specifically for them. They can view their assigned chores, mark chores as completed, customize their avatar, and use the screen time they have earned.

Child Login​

Learn how to enter the Child Area, select a child, and sign in using a Child PIN.

Child Dashboard​

Learn how to:

  • View assigned chores
  • Mark chores as completed
  • Track earned and available screen time
  • Redeem screen time
  • Stop a screen time session early
  • Change an avatar
  • Return to the Parent Area when needed

How screen time works​

Screen time is earned by completing chores that have been approved by a parent.

Once approved, earned minutes are added to the child's available balance. The child can redeem those minutes whenever they are ready to begin a screen time session.

If a child ends a session before all of the redeemed time has been used, a parent can choose to restore the unused minutes.

If this is your first time using the Child Area, begin with Child Login. Once signed in, continue with Child Dashboard to learn how to complete chores and redeem earned screen time.
